Went to funeral for Stan in Knoxville this afternoon.
Tonite went to Des Moines & went out to eat with Joe & Faye for their 27th anniversary.

Ron's folks anniversary. We went over to Mary Ann's for cake.
Got our meat tonite. Got some cucumbers today to make pickles.

Went to Cub Scout family picnic tonite at Maytag Park.

Ron's cousin - Stan Bishop died today in Iowa City from burns.

Mary Ann's birthday. We went over & had ice cream and cake.

Folks & Joni got home this morning. My birthday, didn't do much. Joni's ball team had a mother-daughter game.

Ron went to Management Club outing at Country Club.
Henry's opened. I took kids there tonite for hamburgers.

Maytag Picnic. Went for a while. Karna & Joe called - they were at Anderson's and we went out today.

Gram & Gramp celebrated their 50th anniversary. We called them.

Todd went to Dr. this morning. Dr. took stitches out but incision came open to have to keep it taped a while.
Joe & Faye stopped by.

Thursday, August 13, 1965

Boys still coming to play with Todd. He got dressed and walked around outside a little today.
Joe & Faye came tonite for a couple hours.

Thursday, August 12, 1965

Phil called to see how Todd was.
Neighbor boys came and played games with Todd most of day.
Mom called tonite to see how Todd was and I talked to Joni.

Wednesday, August 11, 1965

Todd got to come home today about noon. Doing fine - just sore.
Tonite Stan Oleson, Bob Emmert, Dave Lamb and Jon Fleener came to see Todd.
Nellie came over to see him and brought game from them and Steenhoeks.

Tuesday, August 10, 1965

Todd doing alright. Started feeling a lot better after noon when he started getting on his feet and walking a little. Joe & Faye came to see him. By tonite he was really a lot better.

Monday, August 9, 1965

Todd had surgery at 8 to repair rupture. Got along okay. Kind of sick all day from ether, wasn't able to keep any food down.

Mom called tonite to see how Todd was.

Sunday, August 8, 1965

Worked today. Took Todd to hospital at 4 to check in. Jill stayed all night with Carolyn.

Saturday, August 7, 1965

Joni left tonite to go to Oklahoma with my folks. Ron & I and other kids went to Phil & Ernie's for supper and evening.7

Faye's birthday.

Went to Larry Hayes' tonite with Ron for beer party. Edith kept Jana & other kids stayed home.
Ken DeBoom got married tonite in N.W. Iowa.

Thursday, August 5, 1965

Joni went on picnic at park & swimming all day with ball team.
All Stars played 3rd game and Nationals won again.
Tim stayed all night.

Wednesday, August 4, 1965

All Stars played second game tonite and Nationals won again. Todd got a single.

Tuesday, August 3, 1965

All Stars played their first game tonight. Our team (Nationals) won 13-11. Todd hit a triple - had a runner put in for him.

Joe & Faye came at noon and brought eggs, tomatoes and cabbage.

Monday, August 2, 1965

Busy putting away again. Called Dr. - Todd can play ball if it doesn't hurt him. Will go in Sunday afternoon for surgery on Monday.

Nicer day. Water still rough though. Did some water skiing.
Started home about 4:30. Picked out first tomatoes (6).
